"That's not what I meant, Kento." Haibara snorts faintly.
"Although if you were able to shapeshift, you probably wouldn't draw the same amount of attention. But then I'd have less time to stare at you myself."
"Oh," he pinks slightly. "I don't believe I draw that much attention. I'm attractive, certainly, but Folkmore has plenty of attractive people in it." He waves one hand, as that's somewhat an assumption. It at least should resemble real life, which had plenty of attractive people in it.
"...No I'm really, really not." He counters, faintly amused because of course Nanami has no idea how absolutely hot he really is.
"You just don't see the way people look at you. You don't really present as approachable, but that's something a lot of people find attractive, anyway. And the amount of people who turn and watch you walk away?
You stand out. So no, I'm not the only one staring. But I'm the only one who knows how to mnake you turn red and the sounds you make when I've got my hands on you. So it doesn't bother me that people stare."
He's attractive. He dresses in a way that suits his looks. It's a decent combination, but it really isn't... It's not as extreme as Haibara makes it out to be. He's sure of that.
"Yu," Nanami hisses, turning as red as Yu is surely doing on purpose. "We're in public." Please do not talk about the sounds he makes when they're getting intimate. Even this reference is more than he's entirely comfortable with in a setting where people can overhear them. He has to pause eating his meal because it's too much.
"You are the only one I wish to be with. No one else can do more than stare." He still feels hot (physically, not sexually).
"I know that." And that's honestly why it doesn't bother him. At least not enough for him to really give it more than a passing thought. Nanami barely registers the existence of others in general unless it's something serious.
"You're the only one who heard me. I wouldn't embarrass you like around other people." But it needed to be said and he'd tried to be delicate about it, at least. "You're mine and nothing's going to change that."
Nanami intertwines their fingers and squeezes. His face is still red, but the point stands. "I've been yours since we were teenagers. I was yours the whole time we were apart. I am yours, and nothing makes me happier," Nanami says. He cannot help but feel the jewelry box in his pocket, small though it is.
"Nothing will change it." He doesn't want it to change. Not in that way. He loves Yu. He loves them. He loves this. They can grow together.
"That's really all that matters." He squeezes Nanami's hand back. "That you're happy." Not that he's not happy too, but Nanami being happy makes him happy.
"I am. I think I'd forgotten what it was like, but now you're here. You may be the one who only sees in full color when we're together, but my heart feels that way." It's stupid and sappy, but he means every bit of it.
Nanami is, yet again, glad that Haibara not only is okay with how his vision is affected but likes it. It's such a sharp effect, and only via Haibara can he see any purpose to it. He gives Haibara a soft smile and returns to finish off the rest of his meal.
"Your vision changes, and my eyes change." Inverse of each other, though he knows his case is a common Legend feature. Or bug. It seems like more of a bug than a feature.
Nanami presses his tie down, well aware the deep purple telegraphs that he's in a romantic mood. It's the color of his tie as well, as though his eyes weren't obvious enough.
"I don't mind you seeing them change," Nanami says. "You see some colors others don't."
"I wish I could simply have my normal eye color," Nanami says. He's not a fan of the trait. Even if his emotions must be broadcast (which he doesn't like), he doesn't want it affecting his appearance. That should be his choice. Especially his tie.
He sips his drink, finished with his meal but not in a rush. Tonight is not a mood for rushing. He can wait a little longer. It's only been a decade coming.
"That would feel like dyeing my hair to get my natural hair color. No, that doesn't feel right, and it's not worth upsetting Thirteen over, not when we have so many good things here." Haibara is worth it, easily.
Nanami leans over the table ever so slightly so Haibara can see his eyes more readily. They're a dark purple, so that it nearly looks black in this dim lighting. However, the sheen is there.
Nanami blinks and nods. He likes going on dates together, and he especially wants this to be a good night. A good meal. A good dinner. He hopes it has. "Yes, that sounds good."
He touches his spoon to the waiter's and leads the way out. He takes Haibara's hand so they're that much more connected as they walk through Tides. "It's not like Tokyo, really, but it is the closest thing to home here."
"Not being like Tokyo is a good thing, though, right? It's not as loud or as busy." And the lack of curses as well. Haibara squeezes his hand as they walk, gaze drifting over the scenery.
"Not that I didn't like Tokyo, but I think this is better."
"In many ways, sure," Nanami says, "Tokyo's still been home as long as I can remember. I miss elements related to it sometimes, and Folkmore doesn't feel like home yet. You do, you always do, but not the place. Yet."
If that makes sense. Even when there's plenty wrong with it, home is still home.
"Maybe we can bring some of those elements here, though." It's not like
either of them can go back to Tokyo though. At least not the one they came
from.
"There are things I miss too, I'm just trying not to think about them too
much."
"I like the idea of that. We should try to get more of what we want here. Leave the bad behind. We will not be able to get all of it back, but we'll be happier if we get some of it and don't expect to get all of it."
Nanami squeezes Haibara's hand as they walk. "A good amount of the time, I try not to think about things I miss either. I get it. With you here though, I know I can handle more of it."

He pushes his chair back, shifts to stand.
"We can go to the bakery first then crepes?"
