"A shower seems like a smart idea," Nanami agrees. He gathers Haibara's trousers and idly turns to leave the kitchen. "We can have leftovers tomorrow. I'd like to see what you cook."
The living room jostles his memory, though the beer and snacks are gone. "Oh. Shoko's here," Nanami says. "She came by for drinks, and I told her you're here." Among other things.
Their years, yes. Nanami holds out hope for the second years, perhaps even the Kyoto second years since Muta is here. There's a few others he wouldn't mind seeing show up, but given how many of them are here, that starts to sound greedy. "It was good to catch up with her. She hadn't seen me since, well, since you died." That time in between.
He looks back over his shoulder, gaze a little hungry upon landing on the suit. Practice, practice on handling it. "I'll do it," Nanami says, "I'll show you how to properly hang up a suit."
"Right about your age," Nanami agrees. At least in years experienced, if not lived. If they're talking that, he isn't entirely sure he's still twenty-eight, but he didn't get the vibe Okkatsu is from too far into the future.
Nanami kisses Haibara back and pulls him along, kissing, toward the walk in closet. He deposits the dishcloth in the hamper and flips the switch to illuminate the closet. He traces the various shapes of the suits with humming approval. Then he pulls back enough to say, "They're best hung in the closet. Never folded. There are different kinds of hangers."
He demonstrates, hanging Haibara's suit trousers first. Then he removes his own jacket and hangs it up. Then he turns back to Haibara and slides the jacket slowly off his shoulders and down his arms. It's an excellent suit, he must say.
Haibara follows him into the closet, kissing back when they pause before he's still at the sight of Nanami hanging the pants and then removingh his own jacket. His mouth is dry, gaze locked on Nanami until he feels the jacket sliding off his shoulders.
"...Kento." It's just a breath of his name, but Haibara knows he can read the meaning like it was full sentences.
Nanami watches Haibara intently even as he hangs up Haibara's jacket with crisp movements. He knows, god he knows, and Haibara's still wearing so much of the suit. "Yu," he murmurs, cups Haibara's face, and kisses him. Long and sweet. All the time in the world.
He pulls back, loosens his tie, and removes it. He hangs it up carefully as well before reaching for Yu's.
Haibara kisses him back, the kissing doing nothing to quell the way he's feeling watching Nanami remove each item of clothing, his fingers curling around Nanami's wrist when he removes his own tie, catching him for another kiss since he's in range again.
"This is going to take a long time," Nanami comments after the kiss, "if we kiss each time I remove an article of clothing." The kisses are sweet and distracting, and it is hard to end them each time, hard to let Yu end them. Yet it's not a complaint, only a statement of fact.
He treats each article of clothing with the respect they're due and graces Yu's lips with his own again and again. "I don't know if you paid much attention to how to hang up your suits," he murmurs against Yu's lips, "but we could take that shower now."
"I might have been too busy looking at you." He admits, fingers smoothing over the back of Nanami's head before he pulls away to turn and walk into the bathroom. He starts the shower this time to let the water warm for both of them.
"There's always another day," Nanami says. There will be another day and another one after that, god damn it. He follows after Haibara and stands behind him in the bathroom. His hands rest over Haibara's shoulders and upper arms, as he kisses down Haibara's neck and shoulder. He breathes Haibara in, Haibara and some general scent of Folkmore. His sense of smell hasn't been enhanced here.
Haibara tilts his head without really thinking, eyes closing as he keeps one hand under the water, waiting for it to heat to the proper temperature. "There is." He agrees quietly, his breath hitching as the kisses continue.
"You smelled the same." His voice is quiet and he leans back slightly, rests against Nanami.
Nanami nuzzles Haibara's shoulder when he reaches the edge of it. He returns to Haibara's neck, breathing him in, and kisses down the other side as well. He lets an arm slide around Haibara casually, keeping them connected.
"All those scents in Tides, and you picked mine out," Nanami smiles, "That's incredible. I'm glad you could. You did."
Nanami reaches up to pet one of Haibara's ears. They've stuck around and are quite cute, though he's still getting used to them.
He slips around Haibara and turns to boop his nose. "We may not be able to see anything, but could be a dog's nose in there." Then he steps into the warm shower, dirty with the day's sweat. He reaches behind him for Haibara. It's for both of them.
"That may come with trials we face. Just as with jujutsu, we learn more when we push ourselves, the trials may reveal more of our Role abilities as they push us."
He grabs the bar of soap, lathers up his hands, and starts to wash Haibara by hand.
He does at least nod, although he ends up distracted when Nanami starts bathing him, his own hands smoothing over Nanami's skin, at least until he has a chance to return the favor.
Nanami is methodical, thorough, and gentle. He loves taking care of Haibara, even in the little ways. There's no rush, and he kisses Haibara as he does so. It's too hard to resist that. It also may be silly, but he missed Haibara while he was gone. Nanami doesn't want to cling too hard. He followed his routine. Yet, it's still only the second day.
"I'm trying," Nanami says. He really is. Even if he cannot trust it truly inside, he let Haibara leave without him because it's good for Haibara. He will keep doing that. That's the main way to trust Haibara will come back. Will be here. To let him leave, for however long a time, and come back.
He rests his forehead against Haibara's and weaves soapy fingers into Haibara's hair. "Did you have fun while you were out?"
Time. They have time. Nanami would pull Haibara closer, but Haibara's clean while Nanami still isn't. He hands Haibara the soap.
"What did you think of him?" Nanami doesn't say more, not to bias Haibara with his own thoughts. Their past missions, the conversation over lunch, Okkotsu's words about him... they all build a picture.
"He seems nice enough." Haibara answers, turning his attention to washing Nanami. "He was pretty straightforward. Told me a bit about his friends, his arm, explained a bit aout this place."
"He's helpful like that. Friendly, much of the time." Especially since Haibara is closer to his age than Nanami is. Nanami is also, as he's overheard Ichiji put it, the adultiest of adults. That vibe means he gets treated a different way. He's also gone on missions with Inumaki.
"He's taken to greeting new jujutsu sorcerers. It's because of your lack of cursed energy and that you found me that he didn't meet you first."

"I'll catch up with her later. Nice that we're all here though."
He follows Nanami from the kitchen, pauses. "Do you want to undress me for the shower or should I do it? Given how much you like this suit, I mean."

"I thought you might say that." Amusement is clear in his voice and once
they're almost in the bathroom, he stops, tugs Nanami into a kiss.

Haibara makes a quiet sound when Nanami's fingers find his ear, smile there with the boop.
"It might be. I haven't noticed any other big changes yet." As he follows Nanami into the shower.
"But I'm sure they'll make themselves known."
