"That it is. We'll make it ours and what we want."
He doesn't want to get hung up on who's here and who isn't. Who has closure and doesn't. Nanami is farther along than anyone else he's close with. The students... he's here for them, but he doesn't matter to them like Gojo does. They're close enough to the bakery he lets it go.
He briefly checks out what bread is available. Naturally, Wednesday has the best bread. There's no easy way to get it without disturbing his schedule. It doesn't matter.
"Yu," Nanami begins. He turns and gets on one knee. "You have been my partner from the day we met, always looking out for me both physically and emotionally. My life is richer, happier, and better with you in it. You may be the one who sees the world in color when we're together, but my whole life feels like it has returns to color with you back in it. I love you, and I wish to spend the rest of my life with you.
He's kind of been expecting something just from Nanami's behavior and it makes sense, given how well he knows Nanami. That doesn't mean he responds immediately, just looking down at Nanami for a few long moments, fighting down the smile.
"Did you really think I'd say anything but yes?" When he finally speaks.
His face lights up, and Nanami cannot help the smile that beams off his face. He slides the finger onto Yu's hand, stands, and pulls him close. It's much like the hug that first day, when they saw each other here, save this time Nanami kisses him in public and in full view of anyone going by. A proposal is an appropriate time for such affectionate gestures.
Nanami wraps his arms around Haibara in a hug after the kiss, holding him tightly. He's so damn happy. He's grinning, and it's stupid, and it's supposed to be stupid. Stupid happy.
Nanami almost shudders at those words. He's glad Haibara didn't wear the rest of the suit to dinner. He's been deliciously distracting enough as it is. They've had dinner. They've gotten engaged. They can go home.
"Do you still want to grab dessert on the way home?" Nanami asks. He steps back, takes Haibara's hand again, and leads them away from the little bakery that doesn't know what it's served as.
That has Haibara stopping for a moment, turning to look at Nanami before letting go of his hand, stepping to block his path, one hand coming up to cup the back of his neck so he can kiss Kento. And it's a proper kiss too, not just a brush of lips, Haibara deepening it as much as he's allowed.
Re: 2/17 -- Proposal in Tides
"Most of the people who matter are here already. The rest...they have closure, at least on my end."

Re: 2/17 -- Proposal in Tides
Because this is a beautiful moment, one they will remember a long time. So please, Yu, please say yes.
