It's the small things that show how well Haibara knows him. It brings a smile to Nanami's face, strange as this all feels, though the distance is a small one physically. He shouldn't be surprised, really, that Haibara sits in his lap. It may even be the reason he suggested the couch. There isn't room for them to sit at the dining table like this and actually be close to the table.
He kisses Haibara's cheek and wraps an arm around him for a moment, though he'll need both to eat. With Haibara here, it'll be even more difficult. He suspects it will only get more difficult over time.
"Indeed," he murmurs, amused. He also picks up his bowl, rests it against Haibara's collar bone, and starts eating. He should at least get some dinner.
